Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing for exercising and good trainers (or dance sneakers if you have them). Bring some water to drink, and you might want to bring a small towel as well in case you get hot.

Do I need to be able to dance?
No. We will learn the steps together and then incorporate them into dance exercise routines. Those who think they have two left feet are very welcome!

Do I have to be really fit?
No. The dances are designed so you can take each one at your own pace. Classes are suitable for all ages and abilities.
If there is sufficient demand, I may start an additional lighter intensity class at a later date.

What if I find the steps hard to follow?
Don't worry if you can't follow all the steps straight away, you will soon pick them up. Just follow what you can, keep moving, relax and enjoy yourself. As long as you are moving, you are working! You'll soon find it gets easier.

Are there any age restrictions?
My classes are for anyone over 16. (Talk to me if you want to bring a younger person with you). There is no upper age limit, there are people in their 70s and 80s who attend regularly.

Do I need a dance partner?
No, each routine is danced all together as a group, without the need for partners.
However, if you enjoy my FitSteps® classes, you might want to tell your friends!

Who are your classes aimed at?
Everyone! You could be a complete beginner, a keen exerciser looking for a change to your fitness routine, or someone coming back to fitness after a break. Maybe you just enjoy music and like to dance. These classes are for you, come and give it a try.

Do I have to book in advance?

No advance booking is needed. However, if you'd like to let me know when you're coming or not coming it's always helpful to know!

Do I need to commit to a certain number of weeks?
You don’t have to. Classes are on a pay-as-you-go cash basis. Having said that, I can take block payments if you prefer, and you can pay with a credit or debit card (subject to WiFi).
